Welcome to Aviawiki
|
AviaWiki is a site aiming to promote General Aviation. The objective is to encourage pilots to go flying by providing ideas about places to go and things to see.
This site is a wiki, using the same software used to run Wikipedia. A wiki is a site that is edited in a collaborative fashion. Anybody can add or change entries. You are encouraged to contribute information and correct errors as you use the site.
We welcome entries on:
- Airports
- Aviation Museums
- Tourist attractions and accommodation close to airports
- Suggested flights in an area
- Trip stories and photos
- Aviation related businesses
- Any kind of fly-in destination
Basically, anything that might interest somebody flying in that area. Entries can have a latitude and longitude, which means that you can find other entries within a certain distance.
Share your flying photos, trip reports, or information about your local airport or favorite destination. You can even upload videos to Youtube and add them to a page.
Access to the site is free
All access to the site is free. You do not need to register to read or add content. You need to create an account to upload photos, but this only means choosing a userid and password. (You need to supply an email address if you want to be able to retrieve a lost password.)
